Both in 90%+ condition. Both have some carry wear. All things being equal, which would you keep if you could only keep one? Which do you think will keep its value or appreciate in value?

Thank you for your assistance and advice.

The Sig will keep is value and is sought after more. If I was you I would keep both.

I don't care for the controls on the sig, so for me it's an easy pick.
HOWEVER, of the two of them, overall, I believe the P220 to be easier to carry and easier to sell.

Let me start by saying they are both great guns, nothing wrong with either.

While I have several S&W autos, I don't have a 4586. I do have an early 90's West German P220. I sure wouldn't trade it for a 4586.

As stated above, the Sig will hold it's value better, might even appreciate more and quicker. It will also be much easier to sell if and when that time comes. Accessories (if you don't have them already) will be easier to find and there is a larger variety of them made for the sig.

The real answer is of course to keep them both. I have never regretted keeping a gun I considered selling, but I have regretted parting with many that I have sold.

Keep just keep for value? The P220 will be easier to sell, but I don't know about having a huge resale value. Is it at least the new style with the rounded hammer and beefed up frame?

There are a lot of P220s available, 4586? Not so much. If it was me I would keep the more unique pistol..

And I love my '89 P220 (old style).

They both will increase in value and if you can keep both do it, however you can sell the 4586 right now and get a good price and then keep the Sig and it will sell quickly should you ever need to...

Both are good, so keep whichever one you like. I would look at it this way: The SIG is still in production, so you can get a new one anytime you want.

On the other hand, if you plan to carry, the SIG, with its alloy frame, is easier to carry.
