SIG P220 info

I shoot my P220 Equinox more than my Colt Government Model. It was one of those deals you keep cash handy for. I stole it. Reliable, accurate, good ergonomics. Got three factory mags and three ACT mags that are quite good too.

IIRC, besides selling SIG magazines under their own brand names, both Mec Gar and ACT served as OEM magazine manufacturers for SIG.

Interesting thread.

I've been gravitating back towards SIGs after a decade plus hiatus and am enjoying the journey. Previously owned P226, P225, P239, and an all stainless P220R.

The recent acquisitions have all been German or W. German, pre Exeter, models and I've bought a P232 and an early P225 commercial (still had heel magazine release). Both are great little poppers.

Just yesterday I was at local gunshow and encountered a Legion Series P220R. This is an extremely well put together pistol imo. Fit/finish is impeccable. The Legions have a slight frame difference than standard models in that the frame has a slight undercut below the trigger guard allowing a higher grip on the pistol. Additionally, the Legion grips are a slimmer profile than even the E2 module.

You almost have to hold it to understand my reference, but it's a marvelous fit in the hand. I was impressed enough that I bought it. Looking forward to getting it out to the range, but like all previous SIGs I don't anticipate any issues.

So...yeah, I'm a returning fan of SIG in general, the P Series in particular, and I think I'm falling in love with the Legion Series. :)

The 220 is a fine gun for sure, but don’t overlook the P250. Double action like a revolver. A flat 10 shot double action only with a great trigger. I haven’t read all the replies so if it was brought up by someone else I mussed it.
