Sig P226 9mm DAK

I put a short trigger on my 229 DAK. It (for me) reduced the
perception of the long trigger pull. That coupled with the E2
grip really changed the way the gun feels.

Note it's a SHORT TRIGGER, not the sort reset trigger. DAK's
can't have those.

Sig Sauer P220, P224, P226, P227 & P229 Short Trigger: MGW

Now like LVSteve said it's pretty much a 13 shot 40S&W caliber
flat revolver.

For those that have both: once you acclimate to the DAK trigger, do you find any issues going back to a DA/SA trigger?

I'm very pleased otherwise with this pistol, it's in nice condition, way better than my older WG model (cosmetically).

Another of my DA/SA 229's has the short trigger. I shoot a lot of
revolvers and as a result the double action to single transition
isn't an issue. You press straight back watching the front sight.

Like shooting a Walther PP or Beretta with their long DA trigger
puil. The process is the same. You press straight back.....

If you've shot double action revolvers the DAK's no big deal other
than the number of rounds it holds.

Well, I don't have any time on a DAO revolver, and very little with revolvers other than a 22lr.

There's obviously something occurring in my followup shots, something that doesn't show in a shorter SA pull (I can group accurately and fast enough for my tastes).

I'm a little hesitant, because I'm not opposed to correcting something, not at all. But as I said, it does work for the DA/SA's I have, quite well; and I'm not sure I want to tear it down and relearn everything for just one pistol. I don't want to WORSEN the others while I do this...

For those who have both- while learning to correct the DAK, does it hurt to also keep shooting DA/SA, or should that help?

Another range session, shooting improved. Still spreading downwards, but better. I feel like I'm getting used to it, and also it might shoot a tad low anyway.

I'm doing this at around 10 yds, left handed, you can see I push things down and right. I shot multiple targets, this is pretty much what they all were doing. This was first target of the day.

Also, I got the original grips (after shooting). I think they will also make a difference, my hands are small. The gun feels much better now with these instead of the Hogues

Considering what new guns are going for, I think 350 is a decent price. I bought a 226 357sig with E2 & dak last year for 399. Wasn’t gonna do it, but I wanted to swap bbl & grip with my .40, then he let me us my credit card without the pesky 3%....and it was close to brand new condition.

The dak is an adjustment for sure, but found that I don’t dislike it. I think it actually helped me; if I can maintain my sight picture through a long slow trigger pull, it makes my sa/da guns seem easy.

Upon consideration, I've decided that this is my son's birthday present. He likes the trigger and shoots it ok, and I already have my own West German configured the way I want.

For me, it's another gun with a different trigger at a good price. For him it's his first Sig.

I even found a case awhile back for cheap ($5), that seems correct. Sigarms case. I'd been using it to take mine to the range, but it makes this pistol a bit more complete.

Just gave it to him, and he is happy [emoji3]

I have a DAK P226 and a DA/SA P229 (both .40), and that DAK P226 is a great gift and a heck of a gun.

I know I'm going to be mad at myself for not picking up a DA/SA P226 while prices are so cheap.
