Guys, I am on the fence about getting a Sig Romeo 1 Pro for my Sig P320 X5 Legion because for every great thing I hear about the Romeo, I also hear some bad things like battery going dead too soon to losing its zero.

Does also anybody know competition shooters who prefer iron sights over red dots in general? I can't imagine anybody using iron sights as moving from one target and engaging in another I feel is more difficult with iron sights.

Not a competition shooter and can't comment on the SIG sight. I have a Deltapoint Pro on my P320. If you're looking for precision, yes, the reflex sight definitely helps me. My old eyes are not so iron sight friendly these days. :(

I have no battery complaints. I always keep the cover on the sight when not using it. I presume that helps... ?

For now, I feel I am quicker with iron sights, but as I use the reflex sight more I have noticed it is not as awkward for me as it was when I first started. For the time being, I'm not keen to have a reflex sight on a defensive pistol, though I realize you didn't ask about that. For a competition gun, with my old eyes, yes, I'd be thinking about using one. If I were not troubled by old eyes, and if precision generally was not a requirement (as in the various action shooting games), I'd stay with open sights - preferably square and black. I find the reflex sight helps me the most when shooting at longer distances.

I have shot my X5 in at least six USPSA shooting competitions. The battery has lasted all that time. I just replaced it last week to be safe. I am going to get the new Romeo 1 Pro ASAP for the Legion X5. For USPSA get the 3 moa for more precise accuracy.
