I bought a M&P15 MOE Mid (current sku# 811054) a couple of years ago, and just in the last 6 months had a new range open that allows ARs with most ammo (other range required their frangible ammo only $$$).
I am a pistol and revolver nut, so handling any rifle feels awkward as is lining up the sights for a target at a longer distance. I am getting used to the stance, but in my last outing the sights fatigued my eyes and/or brain. I feel a headache coming on just thinking about it!
My sights are the factory Magpul pieces:
M4 - A2 Post Front Sight
Folding Magpul® MBUS Rear Sights (look through little and big holes)
I was shooting a black target (the splatterburst glow kind). Lining up the A2's black post seemed pointless.
Would something as simple as painting the A2 post a bright color help, or do I need to look at other sights or scopes?
My intent is only target shooting.
One friend said something about any added scope may need to be raised to see over the A2 sight or remove it and change the gas blocks(?). Or one that sits at 45 degrees.
Any advice is appreciated.
