Wolff makes a striker spring that is supposed to reduce pull weight and there are 2-3 guys making spring kits and selling them on eBay. All of them are supposed to reduce the pull by 2-4lbs or so. The design is such that if you lighten the trigger too much you sacrifice reliability. So most of these kits, include the one from Apex, will only make the trigger more manageable not turn it into a crisp 3lb competition trigger. I am betting Apex's kit will be very popular.

it seems the wolff springs have the problem with light strikes. i would be more willing to trust apex over some random people putting kits together in their garages. at this point only time will tell.

I have a few friends with the Wolff spring installed and they say it's all about ammo selection. If the ammo has a very hard primer, like some of the foreign stuff, then yes they do have issues with light strikes. But if it is American made ammo they are 100% reliable. In the end I agree that Apex is the way to go (based on my experience with their M&P, SD & J-frame kits) and I haven't even seen or heard of anyone actually having one yet!

The Apex kit has been "coming soon" for a year now. It better be worth the wait, and not cost what the gun does.

I just read the blog on apex's website. drop in kit coming soon and expected to drop trigger pull by only 2lb. or greater. price looking to be $30.

I don't think I will make this purchase. I do think for the price it will be worth it to some. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it was more than what is being offered. I do look forward to hearing some of the reviews from those of you that make this purchase. I know Apex makes a quality product I was just hoping for more.

May have to try this. After going full circle years ago, screwing around with the springs, and ending up returning to stock due to constant malfunctions, this looks promising.

We'll see

I hope it works for you Coop.

I have been fortunate not to have any malfunctions with springs removed. I think I will stay with what I have till something changes.

sigma spring kit now available from apex. will be ordering it today

Please do let us know what you think. Trigger weight before and after would be very interesting if you've got a trigger gauge, as would your take on the subjective bits. :)

To me the harsh trigger is more about the cam design forcing the metal sear against the plastic housing gives you that gritty feeling. Just buy the SD or SDVE totally different sear its a simple lever action.

Apex kit

Apex spring kit for SD9VE is $19.99.

Before 8lb 4oz, after installation 5lb 7oz.

Reset still long.

Polished face of striker that is engaged during firing probably helped some.

Doesn't make it as good as my stock but polished MP but still pretty decent.

140 rounds of WWB did produce one failure to fire which fired on 2nd try.

Apex does advertise spring kit good for duty whereas Wolf striker spring is suggested for target only.

Old springs out, new springs in. Dry firing alone feels very smooth. Still a long trigger pull but when compared with how smooth it works for me. Planning on putting some rounds through it this weekend

Installed the Apex spring kit. It took maybe 15 minutes. Dry firing is now smooth. Only lessened the trigger pull by a hair over 1 lb..

Before you start, be sure to drop the mag, lock back the slide and make sure the chamber is clear. /////////////////////

Proceed at your own risk...............

A Word of caution: when you remove the plate on the back of the slide, be sure to wear glasses and keep the back end of the slide pointing away from you*************** The pin that holds the extractor in place sticks out the rear of the slide and is under a good amount of tension. If you don't keep your finger there blocking it as you remove the back plate, you will launch it. Not a bad idea to do the work inside of a clear zip lock bag with openings on each end. You could also launch it into something like a rag if you don't want to use your finger. Probably the toughest part was getting the back plate reinstalled over that pin. Really have to push it in far while you slide the back plate up. Also, you should view the Apex SD spring kit installation on you tube to see how to remove and reinstall the back plate and striker spring. There is no video for the Sigma spring kit.

Good luck!

I just installed mine. What a difference. My trigger was not that bad but this spring kit makes it seem great. Going to the range tomorrow to test it.

If this kit does help the trigger I might just pick up another Sigma. My first handgun was a Sigma. I got used to the trigger after time. But I could see how this would help it become more in line with other pistols

I still think removing the two unecessary springs and polishing the sear produces better results.

I did the sear spring replacement with an eBay spring and was very pleased with reduced trigger pull. I am shooting much better with this mod with no reliability issues as yet. The trigger is still too gritty. I think the inner spring binds with the outer spring. Why two springs anyway?
