Sorry i'm not in the army and really newbie in AR15 world. What is the big tube under the barrel that I saw our soldiers carry? and what it does? Can we buy one for our AR15?

M203 Grande launcher.40mm, I think. Doesn't look like an actual granade. More like a short fat bullet. Think of like a canister of beans with a rounded top. You can buy a flare launcher lookalike

There used to be some replica ones that were flare launchers that you could purchase. Not sure of the legality and availability of them today.

I'd buy one if I could get real grenades to put in it,otherwise its just a overpriced flare gun. There are some weird laws pertaining to the use of these that vary state to state. I'd highly recommend doing your homework first. They sure do look cool though.

Recently watched Vickers on TacTV do a show specifically on grenade launchers - was interesting to see how much Hollywood overstates the explosiveness/ability of the standard 40mm grenade. I mean, not surprising or anything for Hollywood, but truth vs reality were very far part here lol.
