Slide locking back on a BDM

I have a Browning BDM thats locks back the slide in mid-magazize while shooting. Ejects fine. No limp writing. Happens when others shoot it as well. Any advice would be welcome.

Does it do it with just one magazine or all of them? I've always suspected magazine issues first.

sodacan; I had this happen to me a few years ago! Could not figure out the problem until I had a friend watch me shoot.
He discovered that I was subconsciously letting my thumb fly up and engage the slide lock lever under recoil.
I pinned my thumb down with a revolver style grip and it alleviated the problem.
Just a suggestion, sir! It solved my problem!

^This. I have long spidery fingers and keeping them off the controls when shooting can be a challenge with many semi-autos. It's interesting that a major self-defense training establishment nearby teaches the "thumbs down" revolver style grip on semis because "it works for more people on most guns". I was surprised at this when my buddy told me after going on a course, but I went ahead and tried it next range trip. I was way more consistent, and no phantom lock-backs.

Thanks for the replies. Not reloads. WWB and UMC 115gr FMJ. Happens with all mags, shooting. LH and RH. Same with other shooters. Technigue seems to be ok. Thanks for the help.

Check the slide stop tab that engages the mag follower to lock open the slide. It may be just a tad long. Some times the next round rising in the mag can bump it and engage the slide lock. Its kinda rare, but I have seen it happen in other guns.

You might also try a new recoil spring. The slide stop may be bouncing under recoil.
