If I get a mil-spec slidefire, will it fit the 15-22 and a mil spec .223?

Reason I ask is the slidefire website has the same part number for the ar-15 and the 15-22, but different platforms listed. Has anyone tried both rifles?

Also, will the slidefire, work ok with a fake can on the end of it? Any need for a forward pressure muzzle break?

yes and anything that increases recoil is helpful. Lighter you can keep your gun the better. It's mostly touch and good ammo

Just to be clear,,I have the same question...Which, for sure, Slidefire Stock (item number) WILL work on the 15/22/? They advertise one with a "drop in trigger" that probably has a lighter pull since I think the 15/22 is almost four pounds. So, does anyone know for sure which stock from Slidefire works? Thanks very much..........deadeye95

Closer to six or seven, than four.

The stock ports over perfect to the 15-22 like any other AR part. You have to get a 3-3.5# trigger. Weight matters but I have a light, riser, red dot, and magnifier and its still fires like butter. Surprisingly it likes the federal bulk pack the most. Expect to spend another 15-22 with the stock and trigger is another $600.

Yes either Slide Fire works on the 15-22

I also have both types, Mill spec and Commercial and the slide fire works with both AR15's

So yer good

Get the one with the Trigger... think its a better deal...

Thanks Guys...The fast replies are much appreciated. Yep,Majorlk, the trigger is closer to seven pounds as I found out last night. Thanks for that. One more question if it's not wearing out my welcome; I've also been told that I can get a Jard trigger spring only, that will work with the 15/22 trigger group and reduce pull to 3.5 lbs. Does anyone know if that is true, and if so, where do I get the spring. MidwayUSA has some Jard springs but the application info is a little vague to me and I would not know which one to get, if it even works. I did see that SFS has the stock with a 3.5 lb trigger for $509.00. I may go that route if a lighter pull is required. BTW, I took my Slidefire off of one of my RRA AR-15's and am going to try it as soon as the 15/22 arrives. But buying another is probably the best way to go. Switching back and forth could be a problem.
Thanks again for all of the help. Hopefully I can return the favor.

switching to and fro is no big deal. I take mine off for my son to shoot all the time regular all the time

As for the spring kit you can buy from brownells. I think the main thing is getting rid of the creep.

No, there is no Jard spring for the stock FCG. What the is is a spring kit from JP, but it doesn't magically reduce the pull from seven to three and a half pounds. At bet, by itself, you get a one to one and a half pound reduction. You are still left with a rough trigger. It takes polishing the hammer, trigger and disconnector hooks to smooth out the trigger and achieve any meaningful reduction.

There are numerous replacement trigger assemblies that can be set for a pull under three pounds. Some mimic the stock FCG and some, like the CMC and Timney, are no-adjustment, drop in assemblies. Expect to spend $200 plus for the latter.

Here is My Suggestions deadeye

You dont need 2 slidefires... ya can ONLY shoot 1 gun at a Time

So get a Timney or similar trigger... Take a STOCK pistol grip and make yer own block for the slidefire... i have made 5 myself..3 for a Member of this forum.. real easy with a bench grinder and dremel....

use the Stock Block on yer 15-22 and the one you make on the AR... the AR dosent need any help with recoil for the Slidefire:p

Saves ya $300 for more AMMO and Mags..... then ya swap the slidefire and BLAST away... only takes 3 minutes to put a handgrip on an AR so even Thats easy in the field or at the range... just be sure ta keep yer hex wrench in yer range bag

then just HAVE a BLAST

yes pun intended:D
