We were using some "Lawman" brand ammo (I think from Speer) this week, and it had small primers. It was explained to me that this was their non-toxic ammo, and the primers were specially prepared compound.

Any idea why they just couldn't use the special compound in a large primer?

I purposefully did not pick up any brass, so as not to accidentally get it mixed up with my other 45 brass, and causing a problem in my Dillon.

For the same reason you didn't pick up the brass. You didn't want to get it mixed up.

There is a couple of states that require non-toxic (NT) ammo at the indoor ranges. Using the small pistol primes, you can tell the difference just by looking. I have loaded some using the small primers and for plinking I see no difference.
