Smallest rev. that will shoot .44 Spec.?

Most people has never open up a taurus, but stamped on the inside is:
HAZZARD WARNING - Taurus is junk :D .

I think the lightest .44 Special is the S&W M396 at 18 oz. Not bad for a 3-3/8" tube... Surprisingly, the M296 with a 2-1/2" barrel weighs in at 1/2 oz more.

I enjoyed my Rossi 720 for about a decade until some swine talked me out of it.

Another Taurus

In addition to those listed by 44 Special Dave, there was the M431 (blued or stainless steel, 5-shot, 3" barrel), still on my wish list.

depending on the range my north american arms revolver which is as small as ya likely will find could shoot a .44 spl :p after all I did shoot a bird out of a tree once with it witnessed...

Another owner of a Taurus 445 stainless. Just had to try it. Nicely accurate with handloaded 200 speer gdhp, which shoots to POA. Nicelyt put togehter revolver, although some items warrant attention.

If using the factory brass cased 200 gdhp, the velocity drops it below what am comfortable with. Gritty DA only trigger pull, untill smoothed out. DON'T DRY FIRE IT. Did this and it ruined the firing pin spring, which Taurus gladly replaced.

Ejection stroke is very short, which they may have modified on the later light weight models?

Still like the 696 much better, although not as concealable.
