I have the five inch 460 S&W magnum and I'm using it for hunting out to no more than 100 yards. I'm torn between a ultradot matchdot 2 and a Leupold fixed fx 2 2x scope. I want something that will stand up to the massive recoil and if something does happen the company will stand behind it. So let's hear some opinions and if you have a 460 what are you running including rails and rings (also how many rings). Thanks guys!
Smith 460 mag red dot or fixed magnification?

I have come to like red dot more and more for hunting.
I also use LPA open site in place of factory sights for hunting
Only scopes on my longer X-frames now.

Installed Trijon on my 460V 5" on top Weig Tinny SS base. It did not take that may shots the base shook loose. Applied Permatex Blue to threads and resolved the problem. As for hunting, prefer 338. Ear protection is a must with 460V.
