I have read on this forum of several people finding CS9's at stores and on the internet.
I have a CS40 and am considering a CS9.
I cannot find one for sale. I have no idea what they are selling for, as I have not seen any sell.
Can someone give me a ball park figure as to what they may be worth.
I would like the stainless, but can live with the blue model.
Any information would be appreciated.

I got mine three years ago for $575. brand new. It was actually mis-marked, but the store honored the price.
I believe S and W is pretty much moving out of the Gen. 3 models. If you want one, see if your gun shop can special order one.

They occasionaly turn up at some of the online stores. Price is in the $450-$550 range I believe. Two are listed on a popular firearm auction web site.

I have one that I would consider selling...has been shot but VERY little would put it at about 99% or better, Stainless, with box, 2 mags and papers and an IWB holster. I live in Billings Mont.
Was thinking $550 or so
Keep me posted if that would help you out.

FWIW:

I bought a NIB CS9 a couple of months ago from www.Perkiomengunworks.com. (I might have the address wrong, but "google" will find it for you).

The price was $599.99 NIB w/2mags, Lifetime warranty. I had just bought a NIB 3913LS from CDNN for $499.99 and thought the price kinda high, but hey, they're hard to find NIB.

I saw later where the price was reduced to $575.00.

My understanding is that Perkiomen bought out most of the remaining NIB stock of CS pistols from SW, so if you can't find one elsewhere at a better price I would suggest you give them a call.

My deal with them was excellent.. Nice folks, paperwork was perfect, no problems at all. I highly recommend them.

By the way, I LOVE my CS9. I'm lucky in that the CS9 fits my hands perfectly as the grips are the only criticism you ever hear about these 3g Smiths. You might want to hold one before buying sight unseen to make sure the CS9 will fit YOUR hands.

IF it does, buy one.

I'm so pleased with my CS9 that I'm in the process of buying a CS45.

Best Wishes,

Thanks everyone for the responses.
I am looking into the different sources mentioned. Hopefully I will come up with one.

Hi Cobra I got my CS9 from these fine people when it was 599.They are NIB with 2 mags and all literature and fired cartridge,(if your state requires one to be submitted. The people are fantastic and sevice was top rate. They bought out S+W'S batch of new CS9's when they were discontinued. Here is the link from Guns America site http://www.gunsamerica.com/986734198/Guns/Pistols/Smith...9MM_NIB_Closeout.htm When you get it,Midway has all the parts for it at better than S+W's retail prices. If you are going to use it for carry I would strongly suggest getting the night sights and Big Dog's Delrin grips because the hogue rubber grips have a tendency to print out on the hip and snag when in pocket carry modes........God Bless...MIke

I got one from Perkiomen Gunworks also. My experience with them was great, just like Jesse said. Very smooth transaction.

How do you guys like your CS9's? (PX15 I know you love yours)

Are they snappy little pistols? I considered my Walther P99c to be a bit snappy, but don't find my Kahr PM9 muzzle flip to be bothersome.

Are they more of the same 3rd Gen S&W reliability?

Is the CS9 a redundant purchase for somebody with a 3913 already?

What years were CS9's produced? Discontinued in 2007, correct?

Thanks guys.

Hi LH2.I absolutely love my CS9.It is the my first semi-auto after a decade + of double action revolvers exclusively. It fits my hands very well,I have small hands,is well balanced, not snappy at all,and is dead on accurate. The only "complaint" I have is that the hougue grips that come with it have a tendency to print out the firearm when on the hip and cause it to drag on the draw when carried in a pocket holster. The cure for this are Big Dog's custom Delrin Grips, which pass for original stock grips and elliminate those problems. The two other mods I did are solely due to my preferences.I had Night Sights installed,a must for any serious carry gun,and I had the S+W armorers convert it to DAO.After so many years of double action revolvers and a incident where I holstered my firearm in single action ready to rock and roll accidentally DAO was the right move for me.After about 2000 rounds pre conversion and 500 rounds post DAO conversion I have not had one FTF or FTE period.I am totally satisfied and couldn't be happier with this purchase.....God Bless....Mike

CS9D
mine was a cop gun with holster wear.

I paid 375 with one mag, no box. I got a second brand new mag for 20 bucks from the same dealer.

I cannot leave well enough alone and got busy with some files, 320 and a bead blaster.

LH2:

First let me say that I had a Walther P99c/AS. It was a fantastic pistol.. Accuracy 2nd only to my HK P7's.

When the new PPS came out I bought one and sold my P99c/AS... Bad mistake. The PPS simply was never the gun the P99c/AS was, and in fact I sold it.. Hated the trigger/striker, and it was not 100% reliable. I respectfully suggest you won't find the CS9 as accurate as your Walther.

Having said that, I love the way my CS9 "feels" in the hand, and while it's not as accurate as the P99c/AS was, I prefer it as a cc choice. It's certainly accurate "a'plenty" for self defense work.

Fantastic reliability is a given with any 3gS pistol. I've had 3913 (bought new) for over 13 years and it has yet to burp in any way.

I consider reliability as JOB1 in a self defense firearm, and I have complete faith in any of my 3gS pistols in that respect.

I have a 3913, 3913LS, and CS9. I've put the 3913 "away" for my Son, and I seldom shoot the fine 3913LS any more. I just like the CS9 better, but no doubt most folks love the 3913LS as it's much more popular. The 3913LS is a fine weapon, but redundant when you have a CS9. Of course it never hurts to have both. I think the "slimness" of the LS to enhance cc a bit, and as I'm a "lefty" the lack of external safety on the right side of the LS makes it "thinner" and less likely to print in an iwb holster.

My CS9 was mfg. in 4/08. (And that's the date shown on the "fired brass" that came in the case with it.)

FWIW IF the CS9 fits your hands I think you'll be a happy camper. IF not, the 3913LS is a fantastic option.

Hope this helps,

Best Wishes,

Jesse

I'm looking at picking up a CS9 and was wondering how to contact Big Dog or how to get a pair.

Thanks
