Smith and Wesson shield in stock

They are oos now.

Maybe someone can correct me but do gun shops pay close to the same amount to the distributors for their inventory? If that is the case I find it pretty lousy that they are selling Shields for 80 dollars over MSRP. I paid 410 and 450 for my Shields. I can almost accept a private seller trying to get as much as he can but a decent sized shop like them?

Maybe I'm wrong and if so maybe someone who knows more about dealer pricing can shed on light on this

I honestly don't blame them. Supply and demand. The demand is very high and the supply is very low. Thus the price is going to go up. I'm actually very proud of several dealers who have not raised their prices accordinly, but I definatlly don't blame those that do.

I paid MSRP for one of mine and a slight premium for the other. Both were voluntary transactions. I may (or may not) remember that I paid above MSRP for one of them down the road. In real life...it wasn't a lot of money, I've wasted more and gotten less for it lots of times...I have no complaints. :)

Oh I agree the demand is high and supply low but sorry..reeks of gouging...especially if all dealers are paying the same price for their Shields. Obviously my LGS is still making money by selling them at 410 dollars. The most I've seen them in my area is MSRP

I can't say I blame dealers for gouging either. I talked to the owner of our LGS and his shelves are nearly bare and he has no idea when he will be able to get ammo or firearms. Yes, he made good money for a couple of months, but now he is looking at lean times, especially when his suppliers won't even take any orders.

I ordered through them also,I still have not got yet. When I ordered they said it would ship today but being a holiday probably not till tomorrow. He told me they were going to some sort of gun show for the week, and would be a 7-8 day delay before shipping.I also just got off the phone with them, they said shipping tomorrow. Oh yea;)

I just talked with them and unfortunatlly all of last weeks purchases didn't ship until today. I asked if I could get the tracking number but they were super busy and said that they couldn't get to it right then. They did tell me that they all went out Priority Mail so you could estimate your delivery using this site.

Thanks alot,I guess I cant complain. It is nice knowing I have one coming.I purchased a 40 a few weeks ago and just needed the nine to complete the set.I have not shot yet but very impressed with the size and feel.

My ffl dealer got my Shield on 2-18 from D&L (shipped on 2-12). I picked it up today and managed to fire a few rounds before dark. I believe it is not the MA or CA compliant version. The trigger pull is great - shorter and not as stiff as my buddy's LC9. Now I need to find some more ammo...

Model

if the model number is 180021 it is the regular version,I think the MA model is 180051.

Picked up my Shield today. I'm itching to go to the range now. Good luck to those of you still looking.

Which site?

Talked to Shoot Straight out of Florida and apparently if they get them in its not worth there while to ship out of state, so you have to be in store to purchase from them now

Sportsman's Den in Shelby Ohio has the 9mm Shields in stock Today 2/23/13

FGE in Ormond Beach Florida just got a bunch of 9mm Shields in stock. I used to work for Shoot Straight, & they don't do mail order. Just FTF sales. However, Shoot Straight which is a chain of 6 stores, & PBSS which is just 1 store both pay $325 for a Shield. GARY

Just got back from the Sporting goods store with a Sheild 40 in my hand, that made my day. I have been looking for one of these for a couple months, even purchased a M&P 40 compact, and a Kahr MK40 to carry. Looks like I might have to sell one of those, really don't need three smaller 40's. I bet I end up selling the Kahr, the 40 compact is one of my favorite firearms after the trigger job and some Meprolight night sites. But then again the Kahr is an all stainless pistol that will proberbly last a lifetime, and is definately a quality pistol.

I can confirm that the sportsman den in Ohio had a 9mm shield but they want 599 for it.. If anyone is that desperate for one

Vance's sporting goods is the best gun store in Central Ohio at the moment. The local Gander just switched to a gun store and Cabela's is set to open in two weeks. Should be plenty availability and competition soon.
