Up in the country this past weekend and
made my pawn shop(s) run.

Model 60-4 3 inch Target in 38 special.
Seems like a handy little Smith.
Lately, I have been staying away from SS but....

Very cool. Please feel free to share some more pics of that one!

FWIW, I believe your 60-4 shipped with UM grips, as pictured. Mine certainly did.

AFAIK, all of the Model 60-4s came from the factory with Uncle Mike’s grips, IMHO, their only shortcoming. My ebony (or very dark rosewood?) smooth combats. Now it is perfect, at least IMHO.

I had that very gun a few years ago and stupidly sold it. It was never gonna be a carry gun and I have more enjoyable guns to shoot for recreation, but I surely miss it, just for the cool factor. Looked like a shrunken down 686.

Very nice find.

Yours appears to have the flash chromed hammer and trigger so
its serial number likely has an earlier three-letter prefix than BRN,
which began shipping sometime in 1994. Ones after that don't
have flash chromed parts.

Here are my '92 with a BND serial and my '95 with BSP serial.

Picked up one myself NIB about a month ago. Wasn't thrilled with the grips that came with it, but I fixed that with a set of Pachmayr Compacs I had laying around. My favorite revolver is a 66-8 Combat, but this 60 is nipping closely at it's heels. Awesome J frame!

Had 2 of these 60-4 one was flashed chromed in the box and the other wasn’t and didn’t have a box so it was my shooter. Sold the one with out a box and bought a 60-10 to shoot. Still haven’t shot the 60-4 in the box but love the wider serrated trigger and hammer. Wished all my 60s had that. Perfect trail guns like a mini 686
