The sweepstakes being conducted by the S&WHF to raise funds for its project to digitize and index the records of Smith & Wesson will close on November 3, 2012.

To be accepted, entries must be postmarked by this date, Nov 3rd.

The drawing to determine the winners of the three guns will be held at the meeting of the "Southwest Bunch" in Tulsa on November 10.

I would like to thank everyone who has sent a donation, and would encourage those of you who haven't, to please do so by November 3.

The project to digitize and index the records of Smith & Wesson is important to all current and future collectors of S&W firearms.

Bill

This is the public thread for discussion and questions concerning this Sweepstakes.

As most of you know the SWHF is dedicated to the preservation of important Smith & Wesson materials. We want to preserve S&W records to help document the collections of today and to ensure that collectors in the future have the same capability. Our initial project is to digitize the documents of the Smith & Wesson correspondence files currently housed at the Springfield Museum. More information can be found at our website SWHistoricalFoundation.com or the Smith & Wesson Forum http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-hi...82436-smith-wesson-historical-foundation.html. This project is currently about half completed. Over $300,000 has been donated and utilized so far and we need to raise a further $350,000 to complete the work.

Several rare and interesting guns have been donated to the SWHF for fund-raising activities. The Board of Directors has decided that the best way of using these donations is to offer them as prizes in a sweepstake. If this proves successful we may run further such fundraisers in the future.

THE PRIZES:

First Prize: A K-32 revolver, Model 16-3, condition 99%+. Shipped to Richard Sherburne Co., Greenfield MA. January 13 1973. Blue box with all papers & tools, matching magna grips – from the collection of Dave Ballantyne.

The sweepstake rules are simple:

-Every member of the SWHF and SWCA has been sent an entry form for the sweepstakes. Everyone else may enter by printing the entry form below. Please complete it and return it to us.There is no limit on the number of entries you can purchase. You MUST enter to win.

-Those who wish can make a donation of $25 (or more) per entry. Donate $100 and we will give you an additional 5th entry free. Further tickets are available simply by increasing your donation amount. Again, there is no limit on the number of entries you can purchase!

-Those who do not wish to donate may still have a free single entry for the prize drawing, just fill in the entry blank and return it to the address below.

-The prize drawing will be performed using a specially written “at random” computer program and the results announced at the South-West bunch BBQ at the next Tulsa gun show (Nov 2012).

-All three prizes are C&R eligible. Winners will be notified following the drawing and a SWHF designated FFL holder will forward the winner’s gun to their C&R or an FFL of their choice.

-This sweepstakes is void where prohibited by law. Subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Please note that as this is a sweepstakes contributions are not tax deductible.

While you don’t have to make a contribution to enter we urge you to do so. The SWHF is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charity. Every dollar donated goes directly to the digitization project. We need all the assistance we can get to help us complete this work, so please get involved by participating in the sweepstakes – You might just win one or more of the guns!!

For the record, I am also ineligible, or I would definitely have taken a shot at them! I'll try to slip them a few bucks in the coming year anyway. ;)
