The 60s are all good guns. I have owned/own more than one.
if 38 is heavy enough caliber as opposed to 357, you might want to consider the 642LS. It is a third lighter at 14+ oz. Regardless, if at all possible shot the model you intend to buy, with ammo that you intend to use, before purchasing one of your own.

Welcome from TN! The best input you can get as far as a 60 LS for your wife, is from your wife. If possible, find a shop that let's you try it before you buy it.
Greetings from Northwest Georgia! Good advice several posts above. The lighter the easier it is for my wife to carry. She loved the M&P 9c I bought her, but says it's too heavy to carry. Her 642, however, is something she never forgets to carry.
My wife loves hers, but have your wife put the gun in her hand and see what she says. My wife's has the wood grips. She shoots target with 38spl, but carries .357.
I was just looking for home defense and target ,I live in NYC not possiable to have a carry permit yet. I have a 686+ 357 and a PX4 in .45, She doesen't like shooting them, to heavy. She looked up the M-60 LS, so I'am doing some home work.
