I have the opportunity to buy a new in box stainless SW1911TA for $700.

A friend of a friends husband died and he had a safe full of guns that someone from a pawn shop bought...no telling what all he had, and I know she probably got screwed.

She found 5 more semi autos in a closet. All are brand new in box.

That price is about $400 less than I've seen anywhere else, just not a 1911 fan, but I guess my collection could use one.

Colt 1911 Gold Cup
Smith & Wesson SW1911TA
Remington 1911 Liberty Bell
Beretta 380

I just sent her a text telling her I'd take it. Guess I'll pick it up tomorrow. This will be the 8th Smith I've bought since the end of may this year. All revolvers except for this one and a like new 6906.

Cell phone pic of it the day I was checking out her Harley she's selling and the 5 guns.

In that condition and with the price I would buy them all. If you later decide you don't like one you would easily make your money + with very little effort.

After buying the Colt, I had $660 cash left in my fun money stash. I drove back to her place and asked her if there was a chance she's take $660 for the Smith. She laughed and said no problem.

I'm selling the Colt and going to keep the Smith. Most people would keep the Colt, but I'm not a 1911 guy at all, and the Smith looks way cooler than the Colt, plus it's stainless.

Yup, nothing like taking advantage of a widow to make a person's day complete.

These 5 were found in a closet. He had a monster size safe she said was overflowing. If anyone took advantage of her it was the pawn shop that bought the entire collection. And for the record her 40+ year old son was there, and I'd hope he knew something about guns. She said she wanted $700 each. So I guess I took her for $40 which she agreed to.

I'd love to know what all was in that safe. There was one ammo can in her garage full of 50 AE.
