Howdy,

If you know you know!?

I've been pondering what to do with my little deal of a 19-5 2.5 snub and I've come to a conclusion...

Something I've always wanted to do but never had the means, now I do with little investment (so far)

I have the gun, I've ordered the barrel (8in nickel factory new) now to find someone to do the work..

First guess is Alex at 10 ring? He's done fantastic work for me so far, but I'm open to suggestions!?!?

I'm thinking a 3/4 inch gun finished in Hard Chrome or E nickel for a life time of shooting?

I also have another question, which is better the Hard chrome or the E nickel? As far as durability and longevity?

Anyways thought opinion are always appreciated...

Thanks
Erik

Looks like a good place to me! A couple of finish suggestions... if you want to keep the Python barrel in its nickel plated state, you might consider just having the cylinder nickel plated to make a Pinto Smolt. That would be pretty striking. I'm thinking that if you try to match the Colt factory nickel for the whole rest of the gun it will be difficult and frustrating. You might check with your plater and see whether he will first strip the barrel then plat all the parts to match. I personally like hard chrome like Metalloy or Metalife if I'm thinking of post-factory plating. It's about the closest to permanently indestructible as possible.

Please post pictures of progress and finished product, whatever you decide to do.

Given the current resale value of 2 1/2 inch Model 19's, I would not mess with it.
