Finally got the machine today and the oxygen collector machine. The second night they dialed me in as far a my problem and I could tell the next day I had a bit more energy and was not falling alseep all the time.

Are there any good forums for the problem?

I have decided to dedicate a year to just getting off the machine.

The setting on the cpap are almost maxed out but I am going have someone beef it up a bit until it reaches 21. (Spinal tap joke).
Honestly, this thing is cranked up so high it is like siting in front of a speaker at a 1970's Nugent concert.

Actually I am excited about all this because I can feel good again and be allowed to work at getting off the thing. I love a freakin challenge.

Your jaws must look like a Mastiff with its head out the window when it kicks in.
I have to figure out how to put the chin strap on now. I thought I caught it this morn.

These machines can really change your life, but remember, all the pillow talk has to be before you turn that sucker(blower) on!

Couple of questions...Can you still watch TV with that thing on??
Can you hear your wife ask you questions like "Do you think______ is going to be voted off dancing with the stars?"
If you can watch TV and not hear your wife....I want one of those

Best of luck~~~!

Married 32 years....no comment
(I have an air filter turned on full tilt Bozo every night)

Nothin' but good since I started up with mine
last June..More energy,Health stats all
headed in the right direction, and to the delight
of my loving wife,NO MORE SNORING!!!
Oromil.

Good luck in your endeavor! a bit of Weight loss can contribute to getting off the thing...losing 10% of your body weight can alleviate a lot of issues in sleep apnea and high blood pressure. In the average 220 lb guy, that's only about 22 lbs. My hubby dropped twenty when he gave up soda and french fries!
(that's a heck of a lot less than some of those folks on those tv shows are trying to lose!)

I have a friend that was on the machine for 2 years.

He finally lost a lot of weight, got from more than 250 pounds to 140 pounds, now he doesn´t need the cpap no more!

Sleep Apnea is not always a result of being overweight. I have had it all my life. I am 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighed 165 pounds and ran 2 miles in under 11 minutes on my Army APFT and felt like crud all the time. I snored so bad I couldn't have a room mate in the barracks. Got the CPAP and now I feel super. Also, I no longer sound like a couple of grizzly bears fighting over a fish.
