So I fired my M&P exactly six times the other day and then...

Buy a 9mm Shield......likely you will have failures :(

600+ rounds and counting on my shield 9. not one single issue whatsoever. Shooting all different brands. Not to mention my fs9 and compact 9 and 22, thousands of rounds not one issue. I love my M&P's.

So, are you expecting us to believe that, in addition to the problems you reported above, neither of the sights or any white dots fell off? Oh, the horror!

M&P Shield 9 owner here. My white dots fell out long ago and the darn thing shoots even more flawlessly than before! By that I mean I've shot it more without dots than with and it's been flawless in both cases. :)

I am a member, but not a happy one. :(
On the contrary...
If you're having problems, you're definitely NOT a member of the Brotherhood of Functional M&P's! (BoFMP? :D)

Successfully shooting & carrying a Problem Free Shield9 for 16 Months and counting!

Actually, the sights fell off my fs 9 when I changed them to the TFO sights while installing the APEX Duty kit. And forgot to mention my shield magazines drop when I push the magazine release. Sorry for not including those issues in my previous post.

I was being to feel like all these problem threads were making hypochondriacs of us all. Welcome to the first meeting of the Brotherhood of Functional M&P's!
Membership requirements are simple:
• Own an M&P handgun that is safe and functional
• Understand and accept its purpose, capabilities, and limitations
• Refrain from unwarranted gripes or attempts to reinvent the wheel

I have two (2) that are perfect. Is that ok?

This FuncBrother needs to vent!
Mine keeps blowing big holes in the cans and targets I point it at... and it fires and loads another round every stinkin' time I pull the trigger...sometimes the bullets all go through the same big hole !!! .. and THEN I got another 17 round magazine in the mail...!!! AND THEN I couldn't just sit there with a new magazine, I had to go shoot more bullets and hit stuff accurately AGAIN and wear a stupid grin !!!!
.

Yeah, I have one of those flawed 45's that don't know when to quit....

I am afflicted with this as well. Not matter how hard I try I can't keep a full mag and an intact 10 ring.

All those guys who keep complaining and wondering where all the 9mm is at.

I'll admit it, it's my Shields fault. The darn thing cant help but to eat up everything i feed it. And every time it eats a 9mm bullet, it even burps out the 9mm case. For some reason this happens each and every time i pull the trigger.

But I must admit that my Shields have been much better than one of my Kimbers. I've had a few problems with my Kimber, but not a single problem with the Shields.

But of course we all know its probably because my Kimber is a cheap made piece of poop.

I'd send it back to S&W with a strong letter of complaint. I'll bet you get it back in the same condition that some Springfield Arms XD owners get theirs new.

6 rounds to make sure it functions? :screwy::what:

He's got a valid point. It might be broken. I'd better check it with seven rounds next time. Those malfunctions never expect the seventh shot....he's empty!....pow....oh no, he got me!

I'll shoot all the factory ammo you send me to verify it works!:)

Then why waste 6 rounds. One should be enough. Fed, fired, cycled locked back.....function is 100%

Years ago I bought a glock 23 .40s&w. It was good for the first 300-400 rounds then suddenly all stovepipes, M&P 357sig good for a few boxes then failure to extract. Just 2 weeks ago my new to me model 12 revolver was good for several reloads before it too started seizing up.

^Another non member of the Brotherhood trolling for a chance to bellyache!
Seriously Brother, you've got your troubles, my gun's just fine. You've got the Midas touch!

None member of the brotherhood? :screwy::what: ?!?!?! What brotherhood?

Belly ache? I don't have a 9fs to like or dislike. I just find it humorous that SIX rounds is all you need to claim reliability.

Those were only 3 guns out of dozens. Some malfunction some dont, some do it in the first thousand rounds

It's a joke! A hook to get you to click the thread! The whole thread is a joke in response to the countless threads about stuff not working. We thought it would be nice to have a thread that was positive. I know the gun isn't out of the woods after six rounds. Take a joke and stop being so uptight.
