So...What's available in your area?

Simply put....nothing.

Pretty much the same here, too :(.

I did see several boxes of Federal 9mm at Walmart yesterday, but by the time it was my turn, it was gone.

Even my LGS has nothing, I'm glad I started reloading a while back....

I've got 2K of .40 S&W FMJ from CCI/Speer if anybody needs any at a fair price.

I'm mainly talking FMJ/practice stuff. You can find personal defense stuff for nearly every caliber in my area, just have to pay insane prices. As far as practice stuff goes though, not so much.

.45 FMJ is available if you look, usually for not much more than pre-panic prices. I saw some yesterday on sale with a two box limit, the rest you could buy as much as you could carry.

.380 seems to be everywhere, unlike after 2008, at normal to slightly higher than normal 380 prices.

.40S&W, boy do I wish I had a .40 pistol, you can trip over the quantities at the places I frequent. No post election price increases and no limits on purchases to boot. Saw a guy staggering out with an armload yesterday.

FMJ and LRN .38spl is plentiful, but somewhat expensive. Heck I can even find .32ACP and 10mm.

9mm, on the other hand.:( I'm calling it Unobtanium. Supply is down, prices are up. The only places I've occasionally found it have it priced above $20/box. Elswhere, it's anywhere from $14-$17/box, but it's like striking gold if you find any to get a typical 2 box limit.

I stopped by Gander yesterday since they put their ammo out Friday mornings. The clerk told me the 150 or so people lined up outside before they opened bought all the 9mm I hoped to find.

.38/.357, 9mm, .40, .45ACP is available at the LGS. No .22 LR. Some .22 Short. 5.56mm, .308, .30-06, etc. available. Limit of 100 rds. of 5.56mm.

The Sportsman's Den in Shelby has most common center fire hand gun ammunition (9 mm, .38 spl., .357 magnum, 40 S&W, 45 acp) in abundance from several manufacturers at their regular (not the cheapest on the planet but not bad) prices.

Lots of .40 S&W and .45ACP available in upstate New York - no .22LR, very little .380 and 9MM - not much in the way of rifle rounds either, plenty for shotguns.

Zip,nada,nothing.......Our Wallyworlds don't offer guns and ammo, gun shops are few and far between and the few Dick's Sports who do is cleaned out before it comes off the pallets.

Chief. I'm heading up to Montreal at the end of the month...any chance of 9mm,.38 and .357 in Plattsburg? I usually hit Gander Mountain and Wally world.

My LGS completely sold out. WM has a few boxes of shotgun shells. Nothing else around here.

The LGS have a limited selection of ammo and even do have some 22's but the prices are absolutely ridiculous. The big Box Stores are pretty much wiped out of everything except shot shells. When they do get a shipment in you have a very slim chance of ever getting any unless you just happen to be there when it is being put on the shelves. I am VERY HAPPY I re-load and have stock on primers, powders & bullets.

About the same story here, we have 2 walmart stores in town neither has had any 9s for a couple of months, I was able to pick up 3 boxes of 45s yesterday for $20 each, federals. Fortunately I have a pretty good supply of 9s and 45s but can't find 22lr at all.

Not much in my area. The LGS's may get a few boxes but thats it. One LGS is selling 9mm @$40 a box. If you don't want to pay that price you join me in line at the local Academy to get your 1 box of 9mm ammo if they get any in. Academy was getting 22lr and 223 but no 9mm,40s&w or 45acp. Now the 223 and 22lr is drying up and we are seeing more of the pistol calibers.
I managed to finally find some 12ga or Trap&Skeet and picked up 2 flats of Remington STS. I finally get to do some Trap shooting this weekend. I wasn't keeping any 12ga on hand and got without any. That problem is being rectified as I type. I now have some shelf space to keep a couple of flats in reserve.

Pretty much everything is available around here with the exception of .22LR and 22WMR. Prices are not all that much higher than they were before November. I compared prices on ammo cans of 5.56 on stripper clips and they were only about $18.00 higher so thats not all that bad. Everyone has the .22 cal stuff on order but no one has any due in dates on it. I thinnk the Walmart employees are buying up the .22LR just as soon as it hits the store.

What IS around here is priced through the roof. 380's about $30 a box. No, I wont pay it. Loaded 15 boxes just a couple weeks ago. :) I tried to get some decap pins, June delivery. :( I have a few, but for some reason have broke a couple in the last week or so. Was looking for a Speer #14 manual. Maybe in June-- This is really a bunch of BS. :(

I think I may buy a .270 and a 4-10:D

From what I see around my area the rifle to own is a 30-06...

Not partial because I own 3 of them or anything, :) its just that 30-06 is the biggest stack on every shelf when I am in the stores....

Pistol powders and all primers except shotgun, are gone. No 22 LR, 38 Special, .357 Mag, or 45 ACP.

Plenty of shotshells, shotgun primers, rifle powders, and rifle ammo, except 223. 380 and 40 actually come in and go. I remember when 380 was really scarce in '08 and '09.

I guess more consumers shoot 9mm than 40, which I didn't know. Big R got in a huge shipment of 40, old Green and Yellow box HP's. They said they'll stay for a while due the higher price. They had got in a bunch of 9mm ball and they said it'd be gone soon. Quite a bit of American Eagle ball 10mm, which surprised me.

The Big R here actually had primers and 1lbs of pistol powders that hung on until early Feb.

In a word, Nothing !!!!
Unless you want shotgun shells, .270 , or .338 win mag

Chuck

I got two rifles in 300 blackout and while home at Christmas they stayed in the safe due to no ammo in San Antionio. One of our members mentioned seeing some in Georgia and gave me the business names. I called yesterday and bought all they had, one place at 22.99 and the second 24.99. Told the managers I felt like a guy who could finally afford a Corvette but could not find a gallon of gas!! Both places in rural Georgia had not ever had a 300 blackout rifle on the shelf and seemed happy to move the stock. I feel a little stupid, I did not even ask about 9mm or 45 ACP:(

I then spent 20 minutes calling the Academy stores in San Antonio, they had rifles sometimes but no one had ammo to put through them!!
