..so where is all the ammo?

My bud from Big D has made 3 new friends in the last 2 months. They are all waiting in line at the ammo counter at 7am in their local Walmart. They even take turns going first. Every M-W-F.

Also I Hear that large amounts of Military ammo- Such as 'past it's primer' NATO calibers, during normal 'stock rotation' are now being destroyed, rather than resold to the Civilian market. This is a new stipulation to recieve Government Aid. This is why the Africans never sent the .308 ammo that was outdated. Plus lotsa LEO practice after 911 & the LA shootout. That, & China is stock piling raw materials, as well. It all adds up to less.

Actually, that's not true. Retailers and wholesalers almost always gain added profits from tax hikes. One of our product lines at work is the dreaded tobacco items. Just recently, as in April 1, the Feds tacked on a huge tax increase. Just for fun, so did some of the states. Many places mandate a certain minimum profit margin on everyone in the supply chain. When prices go up, so do profits. Costs not so much, except the costs of holding extra inventory and servicing higher receivables.

I was at the local Acadamy Sports store this weekend. They claim that they are starting to get regular shipments. Until recently this was not the case. They still sell out fast since they have no limit on the amount that can be purchased. I have have also heard that most manafacturers are working overtime to meet the demand. We live in a capitalistic society. If there is a demand someone will figure out a way to meet it.

I wonder if the bubble is beginning to get a bit soft? Remember these bubbles when they go, just deflate not burst.
I went to a small local gun show Saturday. Same show three months ago and six months ago almost no ammunition, this time a bunch of people new to me were selling ammunition, quite a variety. Their prices were high and it wasn't moving.
I think the speculators were out testing the market.
No reloading components, but there never are.

There is a show at Tampa June 6-7, I may go just to see if the bubble is still intact.
