So......Who loves BIG BORE Snubbies?

Big Bore Snubbies. N frames less than 4 inches ?

I remember a day when 3 inch Stainless Smiths circulated through the shows
for $500. or so.
Persons would much rather buy longer barreled guns.

Go figure.

Today, short barreled revolvers ( S.B.R.s) are all the rage.

I appear to have 3 original 625s in 45 Colt, 2 in 45 A.C.P.
3 that have been caliber converted and 1 that has been cut down.

9 in 45 Caliber in all.

Regards
Allen

Thanks for all the great pictures. Maybe I'll be shamed into learning photography.
Around 1986 I bought a Lew Horton 629 with what I recall as a 2 1/2 inch barrel. Six full house 240 grain shots convinced me to sell it at a loss. That was before my reloading days. Probably ear protection consisted of empty 38s stuck in my ears.
With age comes wisdom ( I hope) and my only big bore snubbie is a 629-8 with a 3 inch barrel and an unfluted cylinder. This gun shoots better groups for me than my mountain guns or most other 44s. Of course my loads are in the 44 special class.

There's a 44 Redhawk at my LGS for $840 something. I wouldn't even dream of buying it before shooting one.

If looks could kill ;)

I have not yet figured out how to post pictures. But my big bores are in 45acp .A 325 nightguard A 1917 cut to 3 1/2 inches and appears to be hard chromed. And maybe stretching snubbie A bit a 3 3/4 inch vaquero .

325pd

I traded a saiga 410 and 200$ for this smith 325pd. I was trying to barter into a smith 625 but couldnt get a deal. After I saw this was an airlight model I knew I had to get it. I was unfamiliar with them at the time. I think its an older model with the all black front post. Serial CHZ1898 if anyone can date it.

Keep 'em coming!

Here is a Jovino Custom Model 25 in 45 ACP. The Jovino gun shop was cranking out big bore snubbies before S&W figured out that they were a hot item.

.....sorry for the lint....I guess that I need to actually wipe it down prior to snapping a photo.

Hey nyeti,

quinn is my dad...I found that Jovino in 45 Colt for him, and then this one in 45 ACP for me. I have another Jovino in 44 Magnum that I will be posting later on. They are out there and for sale, you just have to not be shy when they appear. If you are in the San Antonio area, I am sure that one of the members here would let you try one out ;)

If you ever see a Jovino in 41 Mag, let me know. I would love to have one.

Now post up a BIG bore snubbie :D
