Man there's nothing I like on a firearm more that some pretty furniture. So I want to see who has the prettiest piece of wood out there on their shootin' iron. Winchester to J.C. Higgins, Ruger to Remington, Savage to L.C. Smith. Mauser to Mosin who's got it???

I'll start it off with a fine old milsurp, an all numbers matching, cept' the rear band, vet bringback, 1937 Sauer K98k
Unfortunately the vet cleaned and sanded the stock and reoiled it way back when but I just couldn't resist the walnut.



Should be an easy one to beat but prove it, let's see nature's beauty. What ya' got? :cool::eek:

This is my Remington Model 33 .22 single shot. I picked this gun up for $100 more than ten years back. I got her back recently when bills made me sell it. Now its not going anywhere. The guy I sold it to apparently never oiled the stock so I cleaned it up and put four coats of Tru-oil on that nice piece of wood.









After that it has to be the nice Cordia grips on my Model 27-2 from Ahrends. There are five coats of Tru-oil on these.

Your ithica reminded me of one I have. Mine is a 20 guage supream skeet. I bought it I think in the 70s and still havent fired it! I bought it on some huge sale for half price and just set it away. I wonder what it would be worth today? Still have that gold sticker on the stock.

 
If in Dallas, really surburban Highland Park, visit the Beretta Gallery. You'll see NICE wood.

They even have SO series guns there.
 
Why yes, I think I have a nice one. My Russian refurb came with totally unsuitable black plastic furniture. Thanks to a forum member it now rests in a beautiful 1951 Tula stock. Since the pics were taken I've replaced the handguard with one that is a pretty good match for the stock. Looks nice! :D

Probably a G note from what I can find out quickly online. 20 worth more than 12 naturally... that is a model 37?
NIB never fired an bring whatever someone will pay. There is a NIB deerslayer on GB now in 20 ga for 900+.
 
Yes, a model 37. I had said I bought it in the 1970s. Sorry, I was way off on my memory. It was half price and I bought it 2/85. I looked up my bookwork and see I paid $239.63. I have never fired it.
 
Call up Ithica and ask em. They have an article on the shotgun lines worth according to %. They stated to just give em a call to find out what your Ithica is worth. IIRC and I just looked at the page today, a 100% (as in like new) model 37 w/vent rib is worth less than $300. I did not realize they still made Ithica's, but they still do, just not in New York, but they are now made in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. They also make a great looking 1911.
 
No pic of it anymore as I sold it a number of years ago, but had a custom made .264 Win Mag on a pre 64 action stocked in French Walnut that was a work of art. Had a .35 Whelen custom on a 98K Mauser on Algerian Walnut. I know this post is useless without pics. LOL Sure wish I hd them now.
