This enrages me beyond words. I , and many others on this forum, have spent our lives protecting others and this is the payment that society offers in return.

Jersey City mayor slams sidewalk memorial honoring cop killer | Fox News

I realize that they have a right to say these things. But, really ? Is there no shame?

What is even worse is that the neighbor actually calls the murderer a "good man". Is this what people consider "good" in today's world?

The guys wife said that the only problem was that he didn't kill MORE officers.

Rest in Peace Officer Santiago.

I work in Journal Square in Jersey City. There's a shooting almost every day now. Last night one of the local Bloods threw a spear into an Emergency Services vehicle, they shot him. These scumbags have vowed revenge, the whole city is on high alert. The funeral is Friday a large national turnout is expected. I work in the building across from the funeral home, if any LEO here are going I can give you some tips on getting around.

If the news would stop printing the names of the criminals then they won't get the glory they think they are going to get. Why don't they just say A law enforcement officer or what ever he is and give his mane , was murdered by a sick degenerate and not give their name or show their picture. No, what they think is fame and glory for them. Just call them degenerate murders or sick murders. Who cares how their life was before they committed their crime, it's what they did wrong that counts. And the punishment should fit the crime like the old days.

I said it in a different thread, just watch the documentary Narco Cultura.

Yes, it's shows the drug scene in Mexico, but the "lifestyle" is the same with the thugs here. Do stupid things, brag about it and hope you'll be famous one day. Because hard and honest work don't do it anymore these days... gotta be an idiot to be successful nowadays...

What has happened to our country??? Why has it happened, and how has it happened????
I wonder and ask that EVERY day the last 15 years. I know the roots to the answer go back much further than that, but it took me a while to grow and wake up....

What has happened to our country??? Why has it happened, and how has it happened???? Killers should be vilified not memorialized...Nuff said!

Simple questions, to which belong complex, sad,and painful answers.

Short version, we all had a hand in creating it. Either through activism or through tolerance.

It just demonstrates the inner-city-wide lack of proper upbringin'. Folks like that don't have respect for themselves... how can they have it for others?

There's one thing I figgered out a long time ago... I best not let rift-raft like them folks live in my head. Don't want my brain rotted out.

The answer to both of your questions can be found in the writings of Marcus Tullius Cicero.

I agree with Iggy! It is a sad example of the times we live in. I actually wonder how long it is going to take before the silent majority says enough.

It seems like the people with the "bad wiring" and negative attitudes are the loudest and most vocal elements of our society. That is why the news is so full of irritating commentaries and articles.

But I choose to believe that the "silent majority" of mainstream America DOES know right from wrong, DOES have decent values and DOES have the same respect, admiration and APPRECIATION for our law enforcement officers at local, state, and federal level.

I don't even like it when movies and tv show portray FBI agents as ignorant, lazy, glory hogs ("Feebs") that try to bully smaller agencies or small town sheriffs as "rubes" and "hayseeds". I've long believed that this is where a lot of people get the wrong idea about some law enforcement agencies. I believe that every one that wears the badge helps to hold back the relentless wave of crime and criminals that would take over in a heart beat if they could.

I know it's not perfect. There will always be bad cops. And bad doctors, bad lawyers, bad plumbers, bad tv repairmen, etc. But In general LEOs do a hard and dangerous job. They often fall victim to emotional as well as physical problems and suffer a high rate of divorce and depression and stress and all the things that go with the job. And I never heard of a cop that did his job for the money. They deserve our support and respect.

I'm sorry for the sermon. But I'm gonna go ahead and post it. In case you didn't notice I just got my button pushed.
