It seems like the people with the "bad wiring" and negative attitudes are the loudest and most vocal elements of our society. That is why the news is so full of irritating commentaries and articles.
But I choose to believe that the "silent majority" of mainstream America DOES know right from wrong, DOES have decent values and DOES have the same respect, admiration and APPRECIATION for our law enforcement officers at local, state, and federal level.
I don't even like it when movies and tv show portray FBI agents as ignorant, lazy, glory hogs ("Feebs") that try to bully smaller agencies or small town sheriffs as "rubes" and "hayseeds". I've long believed that this is where a lot of people get the wrong idea about some law enforcement agencies. I believe that every one that wears the badge helps to hold back the relentless wave of crime and criminals that would take over in a heart beat if they could.
I know it's not perfect. There will always be bad cops. And bad doctors, bad lawyers, bad plumbers, bad tv repairmen, etc. But In general LEOs do a hard and dangerous job. They often fall victim to emotional as well as physical problems and suffer a high rate of divorce and depression and stress and all the things that go with the job. And I never heard of a cop that did his job for the money. They deserve our support and respect.

This has as much to do with rap music as Newtown did with Terminator movies. As our hobby comes under constant fire from the left we should be cautious of generalizing and stereotypes. This guy was an assailed plain and simple. His supporters are also. Just like the overwhelming majority and millions of gun owners who have never killed anyone I and millions of others have enjoyed rap music for years without breaking any laws.

The best business to have in those neighborhoods is a shop that sells teddy bears, candles and other junk that they can use to build those memorials.

True, True, For years now I have dealt with cons, and fugitives.... Come in with a deuce and end up a lifer. From what used to be called "The Deadliest 49 acres in the U.S." The old gray cons will tell you, these guys coming into a max. security joint now are mean. crazy, and have no soul. Their words not mine ...I am talking about lifers. Old time lifers...White and Black.....They say you have a hard time doing straight time anymore due to all the meanest with in the walls...Not goody two shoe types just old time cons....Many of the old timers will tell you " I am institutionalized" but it ain't the same...The new ones just plain mean and for no good reason....Now that is coming from guys in their 60's and 70's that have spent their adult lives in the joint. They will tell you about the new gangs..The new cons..They say the young ones are sheep, but mean sheep, and for no reason....The world has changed.. even for the old time criminals.....Go Wonder!!!!

As a society, we have lost the will, and the ability to have the punishment fit the crime. As a result, there is no fear of dire consequences for violent criminal behavior. Thug culture is growing and glorified. In response, the citizenry will continue to arm themselves, and will become more active in responding to the "threat".
