For sale is a .44 Special 5" Hand Ejector Second Model. Please Note: It has an older, good re-blue that preserved all markings quite well with only minor feathering at the edges of the lettering. There is also slight rounding of the edges of the side plate.
The revolver is mechanically superb. It times properly on all six chambers and there is no end shake. Cylinder stop notches are not worn, and the cylinder stop fits them properly. There is no pitting in either the bore or the chambers. There is some thinning of the blueing on the sharp edges of the sight channel and on the right side of the frame where the barrel enters it. All serial numbers, with the obvious exception of the stocks, match. The frame has the very narrow rear sight notch of the same type as 1917's, and appears identical to a 1917 but has no markings as such. There is a lanyard ring. The smooth trigger and the hammer are period correct and appear original to the gun. The checkering on the hammer is in excellent condition.
Included is an extra period correct, round-head, third side plate screw should you choose to use service instead of Magna style stocks.
The revolver is offered at $850 including shipping with the John Culina Magnas as shown in the photos, or $800 with the reproduction 1917 service grips that were on the revolver when I got it. There is a picture of those below also.
