Just what the title says. Can't wait to get it. Already ordered a Safariland for it. Should look good with my 9c. :D

Congratulations.

May I ask what model Sig and why?

I own the Shield 9 and love it.

I shot a Sig 938 and thought it was a nice weapon. My only issue was pocket packing a cocked and lock weapon.

Enjoy your new Shield and report back after you visited the range.

I had the P290RS. I did like the gun. I just like the feel of M&PS in my hand better. I also prefer striker fired over the DAO of the sig.

I can understand trading the Sig 290 for the Shield. I have read the trigger on the 290 is not that great.

Now the Sig 938 which I have fired is a very nice weapon. However, I pocket and psychologically I couldn't get past a cocked and locked weapon in my pocket.

I enjoy my Shield 9 which has been flawless after 2k rounds.

I did trade out the stock sights for XS Big Dot night sights.

I felt the rear stock sight was not conducive to pocket concealment.

I bought a P290RS after waiting a long time for a 9mm Shield to be available for a reasonable price. As luck would have it, a Shield popped up at Bud's Police Supply before the Sig even arrived. After receiving both, I decided the Shield was a better fit and just put the Sig(unfired) in the back of my safe. The Sig is definitely prettier (duotone) but the Shield has a better trigger and fits my hand better. Gotta sell that Sig one of these days.....

I just did the exact same thing, sold my Sig P-290, and bought the M&P 9mm Shield. I had bought the P290, before Shields came out, and had shot a friend of mines Shield, and just had to do this. Finally got around to doing it last week.

My 290, was not the RS version, it was the older pistol. Basically ended up being a 1:1 swap as I sold the 290 for about $10 more than I paid for the new Shield.

Very happy with the swap, although I'll miss the sig night sights.

Same here, after less than a year sold my P290RS for a shield 9mm. Honestly think Sig makes nice weapons but that 290 was not an EDC. The trigger felt like 12lbs and the pull felt like a foot long!

I've had the same little aversion, but have been wanting to try a 938 for a good while now. After thinking about it though, is there that much difference? The Shield striker is almost fully back and only moves a very small distance rearward before firing. It seems to be almost single action. Both have a striker or firing pin safety. I think carrying the 938 locked might be "safer" than carrying the shield unlocked like most people (including myself) do in a holster.

I had 4 sigs sold them all, replaced with shield, m&p 40c and a 9mm barrel for the shield and 40c, and a governor, love them all and not one single prob. the sigs all had probs . and their CS is the worst of the industry along with Para.

I've also sold all Sig's and replaced them with M&P pistols. The Sig's are great pistols, flawlessy made and dead accurate, just physically too large and too heavy to carry on a regular basis. I have a 9mm Shield and a 9mm Pro Elite and am completely happy with both.
