UPDATE 09/12/2016
This gun has sold to "stroker".
Selling price: $1250 firm, shipped and insured for full value from my FFL to yours.
Offered here for sale on the S&W Forum to contributing members ONLY, is this S&W Model 24-3 .44 S&W Special caliber revolver, with 6-1/2" barrel, and full target options, including .500" serrated target hammer, .400" grooved target trigger, red ramp front sight blade, white outline rear sight slide, and smooth factory presentation target stocks made of Goncalo Alves wood. The gun comes complete with all original paper work, unopened tool kit, and original two-piece labelled blue box numbered to the gun.
You'll note that this gun is finished in Smith & Wesson's brite NICKEL. This was an uncataloged finish for the Model 24-3. I purchased this gun 10 years ago, blued, in LNIB condition. I sent it to the factory where the Performance Center did a "change of finish" (from blue to nickel) and installed the red ramp front sight blade (in place of the original Patridge blade) and a white outline rear sight slide (in place off the original black slide). The stocks on the gun when I got it were ill-fitting and not original. I had a new set of "football" presentation stocks that fit perfectly and compliment the nickel finish well.
Please note that Smith & Wesson's "change of finish" is not the same as a re-finish. This gun was in perfect cosmetic condition before it was returned to the factory to be nickeled. There were no cosmetic issues to be remedied, and the roll marks and stampings on the barrel and frame are all original.
I've not fired the gun since I got it back. I'm selling it because I can't bring myself to shoot it in this pristine condition. I have several other N-frame 44's that I do carry and shoot. I'm really not a collector anymore so this one's just taking up space in the safe. Time for someone else to enjoy it.
This firearm is not for sale in states where its possession is unlawful. No sales to California, New York, New Jersey, or any other gun unfriendly state.
Usual forum rules apply, and a few of my own. First "I'll take it" gets the gun. Buyer to followup with a PM right away with payment intentions. Buyer to send payment within 48 hours of commitment to buy. Payment to be in the form of USPS money order ONLY. No exceptions. I ship prepaid via USPS Priority Mail insured for full value. I guarantee satisfaction or your money back. I rarely say this about anything, but this gun is in PERFECT condition.
I've posted a couple pictures here. For more pictures, click on the link below.
Thanks for looking.
