Just saw a weather warning for the sea off the CA coast for waterspouts.:eek::eek: Seems like the big storm rolling down from the Bering Sea is packing some serious power. Anybody heard of such events happening on the West Coast before?

Here in the PNW we get all kinds of crazy weather.

Bonkers weather is the new normal...

... and I think that we are in for more frequent and even more bonkery weather than we've seen up until now.

Nothing much ever happened around here, a few droughts, some hot spells, the last BIG and destructive earthquake was in 1886. Seldom heard of flooding, there was plenty of rain for the tomato fields on John's Island (Or 'Jawhon Island to the locals). I was a season hurricane survivor of 30 years.

1989 spelled the end. Hurricane Hugo left me wit a case of PTSD. Since then we've had floods, tornadoes, TERRIFIC lightining and hail. And I really think that the worst is yet to come.:confused::(

Yes, there does seem to be more of it recently. We hit 120°F last summer having never officially been above 117°F before, something I'd seen twice in 25 years here. An extra three degrees once you get to that level is quite a jump.

We shall see how much of that storm makes it to the Vegas valley tomorrow.

Interesting. Here in Oregon we hit 119 in 2021. So, For a short time, Oregon had a higher record temp than Las Vegas.

So Cal had a small tornado roll through because of this current storm.
No real damage, just a big wind with some befuddled residents.
