I thought the Model 66 began in 1970. I didn't realize it could be that old.

The Model 66 with a 2 1/2-inch barrel was produced until 1974, so there must be a number in front of the K prefix.

If the number is actually 6K68xxx, Doc44's date estimate is dead on.
