I am sorry for your loss.
I lost a close friend on my 50th birthday to a gun shot. We will never know if it was an accident or suicide.
Went to an old friend's funeral 2 days before Thanksgiving. Her and her husband were at the grocery store buying food for their family's Thanksgiving dinner. As she was walking through the store she told her husband she felt dizzy. He said he looked around at her and she began to fall to the floor. He grabbed her and eased her down and she was gone.
Our next minute can be our last.

Carp, I feel and know that heartache. The ability to make close and lasting friends has long been one of my superpowers.

The downside to that is that I have felt and will again feel that pain of loss often.

I know from your older posts that you have encountered some major speed bumps in your life and that you are a survivor.

I admire your grit and compassion.

Cathy, Tom's wife is also a good friend, the church has wrapped themselves around her. We do take care of the ones we love. Thank you all for your kind words. The folks on this forum are a great bunch of people, kind and compassionate.
