I picked up my 686+ last May, and out of all of them it's my favorite.
Mine is a 3 inch and it carries well, and for pure fun at the range, well for me there is nothing better.
Hubby has a Ruger GP100 and I shoot both, but the trigger on the 686 is so much better. Smooth as butter, and the more I shoot it the better shooter it makes out of me.
I didn't care much for the stock grips combined with my hands, I'm going to look into picking up a set of Herret or Ahrends grips with a fuller palm swell. There is something about a set of wood grips that just looks so much better than black rubber.
