Never saw one -
I know folks who claim they did-
Some Air American guys in SEA carried cut down 20 GA double barrels.
The stock was cut off and reshaped as a pistol grip.
Barrels cut to maybe 16 in.
Brass snap - swivel fitted to grip, carried hanging from a GI pistol belt.
Primarily carried for self defense, jungle snake - vermin gun.

Ah, nope! Looks like another gimmick. They mention home and vehicle defense. Could you imagine touching that baby off inside your vehicle being black powder?

Forty grains of FFg black powder would get your attention but shouldn't be too bad. The original charge for the 45 Colt was forty grains of FFFg.

This reminds me of one of those old 'Howdah' pistols popular in India during the days of the Indian Viceroys. The idea was, I belive, that such a large bore side by side was used as a last resort in case one of the Nabobs aboard a Howdah (a kind of big multi- passenger semi-enclosed elephant saddle) failed to make a killing shot. If the offended, and possibly wounded tiger decided to jump up on the Howdah to get a little payback, the Howdah pistol, loaded with huge single balls, would dissuade said upset tiger.

Looks like you get a free T-shirt when you buy one. Guess it proves you survived.

The load of 40grs/1/2oz shot is a 2 1/2" 410shotshell load. It won't bother you much.

The 209primer/straightline mechanism places it very close to being a 'Firearm' needing a 4473 and NICS check for purchase/sale.

The line betw those being a 'Firearm' and not being one is wether the gun is capable of being converted to a cartridge firing gun' by switching the barrel(s).

The Ruger and Remington bolt rifle muzzle loader versions are still 'Firearms' because of that issue. Put a 209 breech plug type mechanism in a Mauser 98 and run it as a M/L,,it's still a 'Firearm' as far as the BATF is concerned and must be transfered that way.
Maybe because this Diablo has no cartridge relative from which it is originally designed from sets it apart from the Rem and Ruger guns.

At $400, I'll probably go into a wait and see mode Mr Diablo...I'm sure it's quality construction all the way.
Maybe a nice 38M&P instead.

I bet it barely kicks at all with the load they specify - 40 grains of black powder and a 1/2 ounce of shot.

A long while ago , an advanced collector and gun store owner showed me a Howda pistol . I thought it was an Auto -Burglar . He told me it was for shooting tigers from the backs of elephants . I suggested that it would be a relief to the elephants . He suggested that , if I wasn't spending most of my pay each week there , He would have thrown me out .
So confident in my position as a valuable customer , I asked was the name because it implied "Howda like to put all the money in the bag , sucker "

He said " Get out . "

I dunno I may consider one. I don't imagine it would see a lot of range time, but, I bet I'd be the first on my block to own one! I'd like to put my hands on one to check out the build quality, or lack thereof.
