Someone explain this to me, please?

Well they do make loud noises that hurt your ears and buck and twist in your grasp. Make you happy one moment and drive you to distraction the next. And you just cannot imagine life without em. Sorta sounds like a woman to me!

Named a car once. Enormous 1968 Grand Marquis with a strange air of impending doom (which later proved accurate). Named it the Hindenburg. Nothing feminine.

I don't name guns, knives, fishing tackle, tools, etc. Unless they seriously displease me, in which case they may be called colorful names.

A new verse.....

Did you write another verse to a Billy Joel song??:D

Can someone tell me why guns, particularly handguns, are referred to as feminine? I see that on this and other gun forums every day. Examples are, "I can't wait to shoot her", "I brought her home today", and "She's beautiful"...just to name a few.

Seriously, why are guns considered...well, why are they considered "girls"?

Good question. I've always thought that referring to guns
as "she" sounds a bit silly. I love some of my guns but I'm
not "in love" with any of them.

because they do things our wives won't...

my wife once said she was jealous of my 4-wheeler and asked why i spent so much time with it...

i took her to the garage, opened the door, turned the key on the quad, pushed the start button, took off down the driveway and then back in to the garage...then i twisted my wife's left "knob" poked her right "button" and asked if she was ready to go to the bedroom. of course she said "no", to which i replied she(nodding to the quad) never says no...

by the way, i never refer to anything as she, except for that one time to make a point...and i was in the doghouse for a few days over it...

I've got a tiny little Chihuahua named Lillian so when I got my tiny little gun (642) I likewise named it Lillian. My wife has asked me "do you have Lillian with you"? Which means do you have your gun with you.

Now I haven't given it much thought but I also have A 110 pound Doberman named Axl...he is big, burly and black. I think I'm going to name my 12 Gage shotgun Axl!

...

Whoa! I had a '72 Ford Custom 500 junkyard rebuild named "Tank"! Loved that car - you could seat 6 people and two beer coolers and still had room to dance!

You musta not paid attention in 8th grade English class when Mr. Flagg explained that " things of "beauty,,, grace,,, and speed" are referred in the feminine.

Here endth the lesson.

Didn't know they were.

Boats are girls. I've seen cars and bikes - especially FAST ones - called she.

Guns are its.
Actually a boat is more than a girl-it is a succubus-sucking everything out of you until you sell it to another unsuspecting buyer. I know-i own 4 of them :D And I'll probably get another one
