I was called yesterday and the caller ID said Amazon so I answered the call. The female (English was her first language.) said that there had been a $225 suspected orders place on my Amazon account. If the order was mine I should press 1 but if the order was not mine, I should press 2. I pressed 2 and got an Indian fellow who said he would help me to resolve the problem. There was much background noise and I had trouble hearing the fellow. I told him that I didn't think he would have many small children at work with him because the kids were yelling, causing the background noise. He immediately hung up.

I got several of these calls a few weeks ago. On the third one I told the guy he was a fraud and to stop calling me. He immediately got very rude. I called Amazon and voiced my complaint and she told me she would relay my message. Next time they call I will immediately tell them the same.

I get emails stating my package from Amazon has shipped and they
need some info before delivery. Amusing as I do not do business
with Amazon or have an account. And FYI I do not plan of doing
any business with them future.
The only good thing I know about Bezos is that he is George Strait's
2nd or 3rd cousin.

Reminds me of the joke about India tech support. Sanjay was applying for a position to deal with Americans. Rajesh was interviewing him and noted that he had a pretty good command of English, but to be hired for the job he needed to use the words Pink, Green and Yellow in a single sentence. Sanjay thought a minute-then said, " the phone go green, green, green, I pink it up and say Yellow this is Bob."

Now Bob (Sanjay) is the guy I get-everytime, I need support.

i rarely answer the phone.....the answering machine works 24/7 with no fee, pension or bathroom breaks.....

i'm not that inquisitive to engage with crazies.....

I don't think Amazon even has a telephone, lol. They aren't going to be calling anybody. And you can't call them.

This is actually one of the things I hate about Amazon.

If you order from a merchant who transacts business through Amazon, and there is a problem with your order, you can email that merchant. If your order was with Amazon, and there's a problem, you cannot contact them.

Perfect example: On October 20, I ordered a box set of Duke Ellington's hits for $14.51, with Prime one-day shipping. It's never arrived, and the order status still says "On the way, but it's running late". There is no way to call or email Amazon about this order.

I finally called my bank yesterday to ask them to dispute the charge. The lady I spoke to told me this happens a lot with Amazon, that customers have no other recourse than to go to their credit card companies for help, and that when they do that, Amazon doesn't contest the claim. That's a very cynical way to do business, if you ask me... :(

Yes they do. On 3 separate occasions I had "order issues". Following their "contact us" links, I was given the options of email or phone call resolution. I chose phone call, and, within 5 seconds, yes, 5 seconds, they called me, resolving the issues.

Earlier this year I ordered a snow plow through Amazon. Twice they rejected the order and I talked to someone from India. Third try, I received an email that they closed my account. I ordered the snow plow from the manufacturer instead. I don't do Amazon.

We have been happy Amazon Prime customers for many years. On two separate occasions I emailed CS about IT questions regarding Fire HD tablets. Both times I was given phone numbers with extensions to call.

The issues were resolved satisfactorily.

Doesn’t seem all that sophisticated to me. I get an email in seconds when my Amazon account is used to order something. Haven’t received one of these, but I’ve had others, and I always say “Thanks, I’ll check it out . . . “

I wonder why I even have a phone sometimes.
Maybe once/twice a month someone calls that I want to speak with.
The other 20-30 calls are no one I want to converse with.
So, unless I know you I'm not even getting up.

Those two were probably sitting side-by-side at a desk, and to "relay" the message, she just leaned over and whispered in his ear.
