Hi,
Anyone know of a source for these? Cheaperthandirt and Midway are out of them, and Midway's website says they don't expect to buy any more of them. Am I too late to the party?
Thank you,

MidwayUSA had them on sale last week for only $9.95 a box. That's probably why they are out. Try AmmunitionToGo, they get them in now and then.

Be aware that all the new Nyclads that I have seen are the round nose HP and not the older design with the semi-wadcutter HP. I’m sure they still sting just as bad. I’m just not sure of why the change.

There were 2 versions of the hollowpoint Nyclad. The round nose 125gr and the SWC 158gr. Federal only re-released the 125gr.

Natchez has the 125gr Nyclad ammo in stock but they are in 20 round boxes.
Thank you, they have them. They do want ~$.93 plus shipping per round, I'm guessing that's why your caution of "but they are in 20 round boxes".

Aside from the Midway sale at $9.99, is $.90 a round what you all have been seeing for prices?

I have one other lead to run down.

Thank you for your help,

For the most part all the .38 special ammo i see around that's made for SD seems to be right around $1.00 a round. It seems that's what the industry set it's sights on no matter who is selling it. You can find a sale here and there but $1 seems to be the number!! (unfortunately)

Oh, then you haven't seen Glaser or Extreme Shok ammo yet...

OK, that's the answer- gotta pony up [sigh].

bill,
Don't know anything about Glaser or Extreme Shock stuff. When I start reading a lot of good user press about Glaser or Extreme Shock, and they have a lightweight .38sp round that expands quickly and doesn't wreck a 642, I'd be willing to give it a go. At this point, I'm liking what I've been reading about the nyclad as opposed to the 158gr +p FBI load I've got.

Ammunition to go has them in stock right now for $19.95 box of 20.

I bought 3 boxes off midway for $20/box a few weeks back...I'd expect to pay what I paid for any other good SD ammo.

If you do decide to use the FBI Load instead the prices are actually a little better for that load. Ammo-To-Go has them in stock. The Remington R38S12 ammo is $32.95/50 rounds. They also have the Federal 38G FBI Load in stock for only $20.95/50 rounds. I bought 100 rounds of the Remington and 200 rounds of the Federal last time they were in stock last year.

I'm not a fan of light for caliber bullets especially in the .38 Special. Most times I don't even like using a 125gr bullet let alone a 110gr bullet. The lightest I usually accept is the 135gr Speer bullet used in their short barrel ammo. (but that's just my opinion)
