Admit to it, I am a sucker for any Southern iron mounted flintlock.:)

There is something about a Poor Boy rifle... that is so much better then the Gilded Age guns.

Simplicity, and yet subtle beauty...

Think Simplicity will be her name...

Home made .40 flinter.. Bagged a nice Muley Buck with it many moons ago.

Itchy's .40 caplock.. We've both won shootin' matches with this one.

.40 flint pistol made from stock and barrel scraps left over from the other two.

One of my favorites, found at an estate sale, required a bit of work on the lock to return to firing condition. Now it serves very nicely for small game like rabbits, grouse, ptarmigan, showshoes (although probably adequate for deer-size critters, but I don't hunt those anymore).

Original Pennsylvania gentleman's sporting rifle. Golcher caplock, octagon to round barrel, double set triggers, walnut stock, German silver stock mountings. .41 caliber. Probably made about 1855 to 1875.

Something very satisfying about eating a meal taken with a piece of American history!

Sir, it seems we have similar tastes. Brass is for cartridge cases, not tarting up flintlocks.

They are pretty neat. 12 grains of fffg and they are like a standard velocity .22 on game. Give them 30 grains of the same powder and they do more damage than a .22 Hornet.

32 is my favorite Flintlock caliber. It is very versital for small game, cheap to shoot, and usually danged accurate.
