How does it rate on the fishy foul factor with this?

An NCO that I knew in the post-Vietnam Army was a rifted Warrant Officer helo pilot. He told me about how they were hauling rations to ARVN troops, and a large container of Nuoc Mam spilled. He almost lost the chopper, due to the stench. On the ground they hosed that stuff out the best that they could, but it still caused some corrosion damage. He may have been pulling the leg of this young troop, but he appeared deadly serious.

while in Vietnam our unit support Special Forces MountainYards. We loaded supplies on board C7A aircraft and C123s and the Nuc Mam did smell bad it would gag a magget on a guy pile. there is a lot of salt in the stuff.

Fish Oil is a usual ingredient in Thai Food, which I dearly Love.
Just be careful and don't put in too much.
A little Dab will do you!

I fell in with some Thai students while in graduate school and learned to love Thai food. Fish sauce is an essential ingredient, but used as a condiment. In large quantities it can be pretty rank.

Thai food still remains one of my favorites since I have a great affinity for spicy food.
