Colt New Service c.1920s, 5.5" barrel, 45 Long Colt. Newer rosewood checkered grips plus original Colt plastic checkered grips (with chip in one panel, as often happens). The gun is huge - it feels notably larger in the hand than an N-frame S&W; S&W 442 pictured for scale. Locks up tightly and cycles smoothly single- and double-action. Finish appears to be original and has a few cosmetic imperfections, as you would expect given its age, notably a bit of freckling on the top strap and some finish wear on the back of the grip frame. Otherwise, it is honestly in really good shape for a gun that has been used some over the years. Lanyard loop is a bit stiff, probably needs oiling to pivot down smoothly. I bought this gun about four years ago and never shot it, so it is time to send it on along to someone who will.
