I picked up a rusty 4" blue 1969 Python in trade last year. I sent it back to Colt's for their famous Royal Blue re-finish. 6 months later I get it back and it is nothing short of astonishing. Though the initial letter from Colt's indicated that they did not guarantee a lack of pitting, there isn't one defect to be found on this revolver. Anybody considering sending their Colt back to the factory, hesitate no more. Just be prepared to wait a while...
Back to the revolver: I have all factory documentation and packaging from the refinishing service. No original box, nor grips. I installed a new set of smooth Altamont Super Walnut stocks with medallions for the time being. It had Pachmeyers on it when I got it. It is in the exact condition I received it from Colt's. Any blemishes in the images is from preservative oil. This revolver is, for all practical purposes, a brand new, albeit refinished, 1969 Colt's Python, completely serviced by the factory with documentation. Honestly, the only improvement possible to this revolver is the addition of correct factory stocks.
I will consider all comparable value firearms trades. The revolver is not for sale outright at this time. I'm particularly interested in N framed S&W stainless snubbies. Please email me with interest. Thanks, H
