I probably need to put on a flame suit for this topic. But, I really think these danged crazy people are gonna be the death of the Second Amendment. Dead people on the news can quickly cancel out an awful lot of our letters to congressmen. If the shooting community can come up with more creative suggestions than the legislators, it might help.
The only thing I can suggest is that if you've got a buddy who is going through a tough time - lay offs, divorce, etc. Maybe the thing to do is to lend him some space in your gun safe until things cool down for him. As in- "Hey Dude, you are totally stressed. Why don't you store your guns over at my place until 6 months after your divorce is final?"

If you're gonna go nuts, don't add to the anti's pile of statistics, use a nerf gun or a plastic spork and get the help you really need. The gun control people are well-meaning and misguided, but these spree shooters are sick.
