Was curious to see if anyone has replaced just the spring on a spring loaded slide mounted decocker for the 4506/4566 or 4006tsw CHP? Kinda thinking the whole barrel assembly replacement is needed at this age point of our pistols since parts are getting scarce. I have 3 new springs I thought would work but they're for the frame mounted decockers. I wanted some spares just in case the originals broke. If I can't find any I'll just limit the use. Thanks!

I don’t think that spring alone is something that could be replaced. If you can’t locate a replacement spring loaded de-cocker. An option would be to use a standard de-cocking lever.

No Problem at all, I have the materials and can wind on a new spring. I have sent a few of those decockers off for black nitriding and had to take the spring off because it would not survive. Simply wind a new spring on when I get the parts returned using .035 spring wire.

It's not a spring you can just simply replace with a spare part. One has to wind the new spring using bulk wire directly on to the decocker body. removing the spring destroys it.

Cheers
Bill
