Stags for a 10-6 Square Butt?? Help.

Just scored a 10-6 for $275 and would like to put (faux?) stag grips on it.

I checked out prices for the real things and can't see paying $200 more for the grips than I did for the gun, sooooo, it'll be fake stag if I can find any.

I'll be looking here and on the big auction board, but am wondering if anyone has any suggestions about where else to look.

If I can't find 'em, it'll be something like Almont or other good grade wood and as much undere $100 as I can.

Genuine stag/elk grips bring good money and typically hold their value.

If you want a faux alternative, check out older Jay Scott grips. You can probably find a pair for $50 or less.

Ebay has K Frame Faux Stag K frame grips. You may want to check there. Bob

Check out altamont. I too, like K frame stag grips. Altamont makes a product they call 'aged ivory' that's not stag, but looks pretty good. Shown are actual stag and the Altamont product. They're a stable composite, but feel very much like actual stag. The stags on the L were @ $200, the Altamont on the R were about $85.
