This happened to me two years and eight and a half months ago, also cancer. The whole world, and your place in it, will perhaps seem different to you. It may be very depressing. One of my friends, with a somewhat similar experience, just said, "Stay strong."
Hang in there. After about a year, it will probably be better. It was for me.
Jimmy - I am really sorry to hear this. My heartfelt condolences go out to you. She picked a beautiful love song to be a favorite. That is sweet you listened to it together in her final hours. That makes me want to cry. Sending you a gentle hug and some prayers because we all need those. Take one day at a time and remember you have a lot of friends and support here. God bless.
I wish you the best. My own Dixie died on March 12th and I am completely lost. I did make a trip on the truck, the other day. It helped to be busy for a few days. I just get up every day and try to get through it.
