I have two 357's, my S&W 649 and my Ruger Police Service Six. Both have had far more 38 than 357 run through them but every gun I own gets a thorough cleaning EVERY time it is fired. Never had any problem with either gun.
Shooting 38's is lot cheaper and easier and while both revolvers handle 357 quite well I prefer to load 38's (everything from reloads to +P's), which also work well in my 4" Model 10. The only problem of late is finding 38 Special at a reasonable price, just can't see paying north of $20 a box. Had a clerk at the local Sports Authority tell me they couldn't get it because the military was using it all in the Sand Box and the Stan. LMAO!
