Stores and or other places you refuse to do business with

Stores I stopped going to

Alexanders
E.J. Korvettes
Lafayette Radio
Horn and Hardart
Kleins Department store
Caldors
Gimbles
John Wannamaker
Toys R Us
Sears
K-Mart
Montgomery Ward

They haven't got any of my money in many years.
;)

I've honestly heard of like 4 of those stores.

No wonder you haven't spent any money with the last four on the list. Three out of those four are out of business and the fourth is a rapidly dying breed.

Will never again patronize my local McDonalds since they tacked on a covid surcharge.

They tried to charge me $3.27 for one order of french fries (medium)...no way...never!
Covid surcharge ?? I never heard of this .

It's been a while since I've seen anyone mention Gimbel's and Wanamakers. I'll add in Strawbridge & Clothier, Lit Brothers, Clover, Woolworth's and Ames. To be honest I wouldn't care what their politics were if we could get those stores back.

The one store I avoid like the plague is Walmart. I've arrested so many of the staff and customers of my local Walmart that it seems best to avoid going there.

Tell me, what's the difference between going online and ordering stuff from Amazon and having it delivered to your door in 72 hours or so, and the thing we did in the 50s-60s, dropping an order in the mailbox, raising the flag, and waiting a couple of weeks for our order from Sears-Roebuck to come in? The only difference I see is in delivery time.

Everybody hates Amazon. Everybody loved Sears.
Eugene Talmadge, in a campaign speech, said "The poor Georgia dirt farmer ain't got but three friends: God Almighty, Sears-Roebuck, and Gene Talmadge."

Good point, did anyone worry about a company's politics back then? My parents certainly didn't.

Food Giant - Rotten Produce - NO REFUND!

02/08/21 I purchased a Melon Medley - UPC 8 - 15970 01310 - 9 and labeled "Use By 02/09/21" at Food Giant.

It was discounted due to being near the end of use by date.

Within an hour I tried to eat the melon,

Melon was ROTTEN!

NO REFUND!

"We do not refund for discounted items!"

Letter to corporate office went unanswered.

They're employee owned and operated, so you were actually already talking to the corporate office . . . :D

I used to like Lafayette, we had one of their stores in the northern part of the state, I built several of their CB radios back in the 60's.

I'll end it here as there are several more. Don't underestimate your buying power. It does make a difference where and with whom you spend your money!
