stuff you like to shoot with your 15-22

The 15-22 targets make for great 300-500yd targets cause of the very loud cow bell type sound they produce
You actually shoot a 22lr 300-500 yards? Good Lord, what is the bullet drop at that range? Seems to me it would be like shooting a mortar. :D

Heck, with my old, mostly deaf ears, even if I managed to hit a target that far out, I'm sure I'd never hear it. I know I'd never see it move. :)

The final part of my Action Target Bullseye came in today. Whoever designed this thing really knew what they were doing as it comes with a collapsible base with built in carry handle. Makes the whole unit very portable. No bolts to mess with. Just spread the feet & rotate the target up until it falls into a slot. Actually has 2 positions... one half way up & fully extended like I have shown.

I really like having reactive targets, like this one. The 12" black circular plate gives me audible feedback when hit & if I shoot properly, the blue center plate that is in the 4" circular cutout reacts to the hit. This is perfect for the type shooting I do. I'm not interested in punching the smallest group of holes in paper. I train to hit man sized targets & train to reacquire the next target as soon as possible. This way, if I hit the 12" target I am OK with that, as that should take down an intruder. However the goal is to consistently hit the 4" blue center part of the target.

This target will be used in conjunction with my other metal targets & other targets (sometimes pumpkins). I see a normal run being resetting all 6 plates on the dueling tree then quickly transitioning to this target for a snap shot.

Waited for the easter candy to go on sale and picked up 8 dozen peeps for 4 bucks. Poked holes in the packages so they go stale/hard, should be fun.

tanerite in empty cope can.
go boom.
we try to keep them at least 50yds out. typically 100-200.
.22 mil-dot scope is clutch for reaching out and touching something. :)

Its amazing what you can do with a TRR-SR, 40 MOA mount, and 8-32x50mm scope..lol.. its fun to shoot bolt the next round in and then hear the bullet hit. ;-)

My specific setup is just over 390+ inches of drop or around 75 moa. So even with the mount I have to use my mil dots because my scope still doesn't have that much travel. But that's the easy part ;-) . A five mph wind equates to over 3.5 ft of drift, if I remember correctly. I'd have to check my notes to give you exact numbers(and then it would only get you close) but this gives you an idea. I truly don't know what the flight time is but it seems like a couple seconds.

Close: is a relative term.. LOL

Like I said... like shooting a mortar. :D

My favorite distance is 250-300yds with that rifle. An 8"x8" target is easy if you get your windage correct. Adding a suppressor and using target ammo adds even more fun into the mix. Taking 250 fps off the bullet don't sound like much but .....

Dollar Store Shaving cream cans and anything else cheap and pressurized.

Used water/juice bottles with water and food coloring.

I love the ketchup packet idea, I am a Taco Bell nut and always have the fire sauce packets in the glove box...

You have a private area to shoot? My gun range probably won't let me get that creative.

I wish I had land.:( I'm limited to plastic bottles and fruit at the range. Somebody brought a computer and the EPA got involved so we have rules now.

thirteen-lined ground squirrel, also known as the striped gopher, and leopard ground squirrel.

A family of these nasty critters (can carry plauge and eat my wifes flowers n such) has taken up residence in the side yard 25 yards from my front porch (I live in the county out east of Cheyenne). They are a small target at that distance and provide good marksmanship training as I dispatch them to meet thier maker.
