Well I was out repairing a windshield at a customers house today. This very nice older couple just happen to look at the rear window of my truck(NRA sticker)and asked if I like guns, of course I do I said.

This happens form time to time but most of the time it's shotguns or 22's. Well to my surprise he walked out with this, I was in shock! Not only is it a pre war N frame in 44 special but it has target sights! Needless to say the windshield could have exploded and I wouldn't have noticed.

We talked for about two hours and they were telling me that her grandfather bought it new in Texas and it's been in the family for years. The only reason why they sold it to me was they didn't have anyone to had it down to. I put there minds at ease and guaranteed them it was going to a good home. Enjoy....

44 Hand Ejector 2nd Model Target serial#27485

That is such a wonderful and amazing story! This proves the story is almost as important as the gun!

Sad..........................

With so many young people turning their backs on firearms, many family heirlooms will come to market or worse, be given over to the police for disposal.

Hopefully there will be more chance meetings to ensure that these treasures remain in the collections of caring, albeit, new owners.

I see a happy ending -- not a sad one -- here. I'll bet the couple is relieved and honored to have found a safe, caring home for their heirloom.

I was standing out in the middle of the street talking with Bill from my lgs today. He told me an older guy is going to bring him an inventory list of 200 guns he wants to sell. I'm drooling.

Very nice gun there. Even if no deal its usually interesting to meet another S&W owner
All you guys against having any gun related stickers on your car thinking of a good reason to have them

Great story' great gun

I might consider asking what his name was and some General info and keep it with the gun. Even though its not proven a letter down the road might help keep the story together.
